Sweet Photo Boutique+Fancy Hair Candy+April Ignacio= Sweet Fancy Faces

A couple of blogs ago, I mentioned that I was going to join a 3-way collabo with 2 very special ladies. Well, the time has come and we have our first project set for June! Makeup Artist, April Ignacio and Photographer, Jailyn Cannon of Sweet Photo Boutique, has asked Fancy Hair Candy to join in on a project that I’d like to call ~Sweet Fancy Faces~. I would love to give more details, but I don't want to spoil the surprise!

As for Fancy, I have a ton of work to do! I have to come up with some fun pieces for this project. This is so exciting for me! I love to create pieces for special ocassions (weddings, baptisms, 1st communions, baby showers, etc) and photo shoots. I love to put my spin on things and it makes me extra happy when my clients appreciate my work.

I was blessed with a new idea today from a dear client, Andrea. She asked me if I ever entertained the thought of making Mini Hats. I have always seen them in stores but never thought about making some. Mini Hats are so cute! What a wonderful idea that would go so well with this June project! I told her that this idea came to me in perfect timing. I love and appreciate her ideas because they are so fun and out of the ordinary! THANKS ANDREA!!

Here is a mini hat in Lolita Red! This mini needs an appointment with me to get doctored up!

Okay, this is not a mini top hat but i sure do think this dude is hot!!

So I will end this entry with my mini mad hat tipped off  to all of you fancy readers (all 3 of you) hahahaa.

Befri Jailyn Cannon of http://www.sweetphotoboutique.blogspot.com/ made this for me! Check out her work and contact her if you are interested in getting some glam shots done sweetphotoboutique@gmail.com

Saturday = Yayday!

Last Saturday was a YAYday! for 3 reasons:

1. My Buggy (my daughter) won her soccer game 6-0.

2. I got to have ME time for 4 whole hours while treasure hunting during my antique crawl down Main Street. Martinez has antique shops on every corner!

3. I stumbled across a shop that had tons of loose buttons for sale! I bought so many beautiful buttons. It's as if they were waiting there just for ME.

Oh wait, I have 4 reasons... =)
4. While I was on my treasure hunt, my husband was at a vintage expo and he brought me back some super cool vintage- buttons. Now I am full of button happiness!!

I was so excited that I ended up making some beautiful vintage- inspired pieces on Saturday! I can’t wait to get them up on my Etsy site! Here is a little iphone sneak peek of a few pieces I made. I am not sure if these should go on a headband or stay as hair clips....hmm. What is a girl to do?

Rusty Vintage Fleurettes

Is this not soooo cool!?? I would have bought it but I have no room or purpose for it.

Le Gateau Elegant on Main St -my wedding cake came from this bakery!

So as you can see, I ran into some extra treasures- check out the yummy cupcakes above! I had to pay homage and a visit to the bakery that made my wedding cake (thanks again Mom!).

Peace. Love. and Fanciness!

Thank You Sweet Little Notebook Blogger!!

I have to journal and thank one of my best girlfriends, Jailyn Cannon, for the sweet write up she did on Fancy Hair Candy. Hence the name of her blog site: www.sweetlittlenotebook.blogspot .com.
I have to say that Jailyn has really showed me a lot of support through the birth and growth of my business. She is always on the lookout for cute ideas, cool antique shops, and even fun finds at local craft stores. The details are always delivered to me with much excitement! "Oh my gosh I found the cutest little flowers" "Oh my gosh I have to bring you to this cute shabby chic shop" Hahah. She also sends me pictures and says "You have homework to do!". She has been such a great motivational therapist! -And that is when you know you have a person's love and support.
Here are some of the cute collages she has put together for her blog. I have to share because they make me so proud! Thanks Jailyn for all of your support! XO and love ya!

P.S. Jailyn and I have decided to collaborate and bring our art together. I get to fancify Jailyn's models with accesories. We are also working with an awesome makeup artist, April Ignacio! I think this is going to be super fun or as Jailyn would say "such girlie fun!". So stay tuned because I am going to be posting a lot more pictures on my blog!! EXCITED!

Fancy Hair Candy's Very First Blog!

I am really excited to finally have my blog set up! I think it will be a fun way to journal my way through this Fancy business! It also gives my Fancy friends a little bit of insight on what goes on in my head and in my "factory".

First, let me show you the mess I have accumulated in my kitchen. My poor family hasn't eaten at this table for about a month now! I really need to hook myself up with an Arts n' Crafts station. I have been hunting through the internet for some cool/easy DIY craft station tutorials! I think I better start by cleaning out my hall closet. There is soooooo much wasted space in that thing! I have one problem though- out of sight out of mind... when my tools are put away, I lose my mojo.

This is where the magic happens!
Hey, check out what my puppup does while I am hard at work. He never leaves my side! Bet you can't tell where his face is! Ha. I love this kid!

Nucky my little ride or die bud!
Anyways, back to the Fancy business... I made some really awesome pieces this weekend! I have to test their sturdiness out before I put them up for sale. I sorta ventured outside of my usual and I loved every minute of it! Here is a little peek-a-boo of one of the feather bouquets I made. I named these Fancy Feather Bouquets because arranging the feathers felt like I was arranging flowers. FUN! If I could make feather bouquets all day, I would!

Here is another piece I made, which was sort of inspired by Betsey Johnson. I just love her random fashion sense. If I was a millionaire, I would splurge on Betsey Johnson jewelry instead of Diamonds. Haha.-I am serious, too. I wanted to put a little spin on the whole girlie vintage look. I am going to add this baby into my Skulls are a girl's best friend collection.

Before I go, I'd like to share some happy news! I have received a ton of special requests in the last few days. I am really excited about them and I can't wait to share the finished products with you! Also, aside from my special requests, I have some fab-o fabric coming in from Fabric.com for my Jersey Turbanettes!! I am STOKED.

.Goodnight and Sweet Dreams.
